Sometimes life gets dark | Nuepiko dance company co-production
This dance–theatre performance is inspired by the nostalgic sound of the band Mazzy Star and the lost generation of 1990s Los Angeles. Through absurd imagery and deliberately “trashy” scenography, the creator invites the audience on a journey through real and imagined shadows, seeking to close the door on pain and search for healthier ways of living. The work is connected to personal experiences—enduring failure, confronting oneself, seeking help, and constructing meaning. The performance encourages the beginning of a dialogue about unspoken topics, inviting reflection and the acceptance of one’s inner darkness.

FOREBODE
/fɔːˈbəʊd/ (of a situation or occurrence) act as an advance warning of (something bad)
A dance short, "FOREBODE", explores the bodily bond between intimacy and isolation. Through a loop-like score, dancer Sasha Boccara engraves a circular floor pattern. The camera moves gradually, losing and picking back focal points, thus delving into deeper abstraction. The movement is supported by the looming sounds of baroque strings inspired by the music of Nicolas Jaar.

In my dreams I am always running from storms
This poetic short film invites viewers to explore the fluid boundaries between movement, memory, and identity. Set against the backdrop of striking visuals and a meditative atmosphere, the piece weaves together fleeting moments of introspection and transformation, blurring the lines between the seen and the felt.

Violent Love
It is a 4-minute dance performance about the oddness of interpersonal relationships in nowadays society. The performance consists of one soloist dancer. The show encapsulates high-end lighting design, courageous costume choice, both old musical tunes improvised in quirky manner on the sound system. Movement language in the piece is quite physical, thus the soloist is captivating the audience with high skill, virtuosity and speed. “Violent love” delves into subconscious feelings of madness, being out of control when in love, and strangeness to our familiar surroundings. The piece's goal is to represent and provoke what makes us tick. It takes place now with relatable character depiction, mood alteration and a clear soothing message for those in a period of personal quest. The show guarantees the audience a pleasurable evening in style.

The viewer here is fascinated and inspired by the woman's refreshing strength, ability to adapt and stay flexible in the face of adversity and furthermore resist manipulation. Her gentleness, piercing gaze and sonorous light voice do not leave anyone indifferent. The modern woman can fight back, impress and dance to her own beat and resist anyone who wants to stand up to her. And what remains unnoticed, silenced, acted out? What is a young woman today without a mask?
